We all have been told time and again how important and life changing waking up early can be. By simply becoming a morning person one can experience a major shift in life that is evidently positive and significant. But for someone who has never been a morning person, making this change may seem a little difficult. Well, it is not really that difficult, if you are determined to bring consistency in your routine. Here are a few ways in which you can change your lifestyle and become a morning person.
Morning Routine Starts the Night Before
Now this is important and for some reason often gets neglected. You cannot expect to become a morning person or have a healthy morning routine if you are not getting quality sleep. You will have to work on your evening routine if you wish to become a morning person. Change your time of sleeping, avod coffee at night, leave social media, and probably set up the mood to enhance the quality of sleep with scented candles, dim lights, and temperature that you are comfortable with.
Taking shower at night can also promote sleep, you can also add milk to your dinner or bedtime routine. Do not forget your skincare routine, that is more important than you think.
Have a Purpose
It is easy to get up in the morning with the help of an alarm but when you don’t have any plans for the morning, you end up sleeping in a little more, and then a little more, and then finally when you wake up you realize you don’t have enough time to have a morning routine. It is important to have something planned so that you can look forward to doing or achieving something for which you will actually consider leaving bed. It can be anything that keeps you going. Some people like working out in the morning, some people love the idea of having breakfast and coffee, and some have a list of household chores that need to be taken care of. Choose what you would like to do first thing in the morning (please do not scroll through instagram or Tiktok) and start doing it every single day.
Wake Yourself Up
Do you feel sleepy even after leaving bed? Honestly, you are not alone in this. It is pretty normal to take some time to wake up completely. However, you can always try a few methods to wake yourself up quickly and effectively. Brushing your teeth and taking a shower as soon as you wake up can actually help you wake up and feel fresh. There is no better way to completely wake yourself up than this. Drinking water first thing in the morning is also recommended. Instead of having coffee first thing in the morning, having a fruit instead can work more efficiently and is definitely comparatively healthier for your body as well. Working out, switching on the lights, letting the sunlight in, and turning on some mood lifting music will help as well.
Going out for a quick run in the morning can help you stay fit and get ready for the day. Stepping outside the house, in the morning, in the pleasant morning breeze can wake you up and positively influence your mood, health, and body as well. You don’t necessarily have to run though. You can walk, jog, or simply stand out for some time as well. When you step out of your house, make sure you are safe, and your locality has residential security. Especially if you live alone because the world definitely is not safe and going out alone, even for a morning walk can attract crime. However, that should not restrict you from living your life on your own terms, hence having security for your house or a guard in your colony is important and recommended.
Waking up in the morning is not actually difficult, it is just because of the lifestyle you have been following that sleeping early and waking up early seems impossible. Once you start working on it and stay consistent you will realize how easy it was to introduce change. Technology is responsible for the messed up sleep cycle and leaving it at least at night can help you a lot in achieving the goal of becoming a morning person.
